Problem with your Broker? What to do
If you have had a problem with your broker or advisor and you don’t
know what to do, here some tips that you can follow:

Broker
Speak to your broker to resolve the problem.

Branch Manager
If you and he cannot resolve the problem to your satisfaction then
talk to the branch manager of the brokerage.

Compliance Office
If you still cannot get the matter resolved to your satisfaction, then
write and speak to the compliance office of the brokerage and ask them
to respond as soon as possible.

Written Records
At each step of the way, ensure that you keep all written records of
the transaction in respect of which you seek resolution and keep written
notes of all your conversations with the broker, the branch manager and
compliance office.

State Regulator
If the problem has still not been resolved then contact your state
regulator. The address and links of your state securities regulator can
be found at the North American
Securities Administrators Association (NASAA). The NASAA
website will allow you find the applicable regulator for the US, Canada

NASD
If your complaint involves a broker/dealer operating in the US, you
can then also file a complaint with the National
Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD) of which every broker/dealer
in the United States that conducts a securities business with the public
is required by law to be a member.

SEC
Finally you can file a complaint at the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission.

Recovery of Money
In addition to filing the appropriate complaint, you should speak to
your attorney or lawyer who can tell what your remedies at law are to recover
any money that you have lost. Because there are time limits within which
you must commence any legal action, you should contact your attorney or
lawyer as soon as you can so as to avoid losing your right to recover.
